Wednesday ramblings

I couldn't justify individual posts about these things, so here is a compliation blog post:

  • SlickDeals.net: "YankeeCandle has 22oz. Housewarmer Candles for $10.78 each"
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone, but I actually have one in my house. Helps cover up the cooking smells, and general guy and dog smells in my house. I ought to use something like Fabreeze, but that stuff is pricey for the length of the results. I might have to go pick up two, and even at the grand total of $27 with shipping, it is like going to the store and buying one getting one free, well, the second for $5. A deal I believe.
  • Yahoo Email: I do love the free service but I have to complain right now. Two things really... first is that their autocomplete for email addresses is just not loading properally. They tout it as helping save time and such, but for the past two weeks it is has been very hard to use. Second is that they turned on the "avatar" icon on the main email section- WHY?! I don't use Yahoo enough to build a virtual me. Who lost a bet at Yahoo to do this? Maybe make sure the rest of your site works before doing this. Good grief!
  • I know my new digital camera is seeping in to my brain when I have dream about it. Monday morning I woke up with this horrible dream. I was going to a U2 show with a photo pass, that is to take "professional" style photos from the floor, and when I got to the door I realized I had left my camera at home. EEK GADS!
  • Speaking of the digital camera, I have been looking in to additional items to buy. One is a nice camera bag, and I think I have found it with the LowePro Toploading All-Weather system. Combines all the things I am looking for in a camera bag, most importantly easy of access for when I am hiking or backpacking. (though the little camera baggie looks really crap) I am still up in the air about Tri-pods. After checking some reviews, I saw carbon-fiber versions that are light weight (under 4lbs), however VERY pricey. Time to think some more on this one... maybe I can find one used.

Lastly, just a thought, why is it when I fly, I seemingly can never get the flight time right in my head? I am always pushing it back an hour or two. Gotta work on this.

showing up at the airport on time is fairly important...

as for the camera bag, how many lenses does one hold?

i have a mini tripod. my dad's is very heavy, but it works as well. i would highly recommend getting one; i couldn't take night shots without it.

and i dreamt i went to U2 and got busted for reusing wristbands (and i hardly ever do that!)

Lets see, general guy smells... I think it has been descibed as various ways... smelly feet, old cheese, or my favorite- like it hasn't been cleaned in two months. Whatever that means.

But for me it is cooking smells, dog smells, a layer of dust, and various other small things that I track through the house.
